L&L Franchise is the brainchild of two entrepreneurs Eddie Flores and Johnson Kam who bought L&L Drive-Inn that was situated on Liliha Street at Honolulu at Hawaii.  At fist the two found it hard to run the business but the preserved and succeeded.  In 1988 Flores and Kam decided to expand their operations by franchising. Their restaurants were among the first to serve generous portions of fresh lunches at low prices all over Hawaii.

L&L now has more than 200 restaurants in California, Nevada, Washington, Colorado, Utah and Oregon. The other locations are New York, New Zealand, Japan and American Samoa. The success of L&L Franchise is as a result of the decentralized ownership system through franchises. Each restaurant is a profit center that is incorporated separately and is operated by individual owners or partners.

L&L approves the site that has been selected after analyzing it by considering the population mixture, proposed rental and the geographical area. It also considers the business hours of that area, its vehicular traffic and other aspects that might affect the performance of the business.

If there is hardship in getting a good location, L&L recommends good real estate brokers in the area who can help in securing a suitable site. The franchisor also provides suggestions and guidance about locating at an approved location. The company offers the franchisees with a copy of the operations manual.

The manual has procedures, standards suggested and mandatory specifications. You will be provided with standard layout plans and décor. Those who are going for training only have to pay for accommodation, food cost and transportation as the company does not charge anything for training. Training takes place at Honolulu or a location that is designated by L&L. The company provides with the franchisees with time to prepare themselves for opening the business. The time provided ranges from 3-9 moths after signing the franchise agreement.
