It is an arrangement in which the franchisor grants license to the franchisee so that the franchisee can use a specified brand name (e.g. McDonald’s). Though it is generally important to consider the amounts of profits you are going to get from business, you should also consider the factors like flexibility in management, the skills and experience required to manage the business and the support offered by the franchisor. There are some people who still believe that owning an independent business is better than franchising. Their belief is based on the notion that you are entitled to all the profits if you establish an independent business. While this is true to some extend, it is important to note that it will take time to realize profits if you establish business from scratch. Establishing the business from scratch is also costly because you are required to obtain registration with various authorities and acquire certain licenses. The best franchise business model will therefore enable you make reasonable amount of profits while offering flexibility in management.
