Curves Franchise

The Curves franchise is a woman only gym that was established n 1992 and started franchising in 1995. The intention of the organization is to help in empowering women in your local community while at the same time earning lucrative income.

The idea to start the business was developed by a 20-year old pre-med student called Gary Heavin. Gary took over a non-profitable fitness center that was located in Houston and then turned around the business. After operating the fitness center for five years, he opened 6 centers. 10 years later when his business had 17 operational units it collapsed. Out of determination to succeed, Gary decided to learn from his past mistakes and start another business. He opened Curves for Women which s a fitness center for women only in 1992 at Harlingen, Texas. Franchising of the business started in 1995.
